The all-new 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is once again the apple of the industry eye, as its upscale interior has received an accolade from WardsAuto.
The editors of the publication name the Santa Fe Sport to their Ward’s 10 Bes Interiors list.
Tom Murphy, executive editor, WardsAuto, said the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is exactly what you would expect from a midsize family CUV.
He also noted that the editors particularly admired the upscale design and tasteful interior, as well as the affordability of the car.
WardsAuto editors have been hard at work evaluating vehicles since February so that they could narrow down the 46 contenders into a top 10.
Editors look at a number of different things during the selection process, paying attention to such things as the layout of the instrument panel, all the way up to checking the seams and armrests on the seats to see if they appear straight.
On CUV’s and SUV’s, they also pay attention to the space and comfort provided by third row seating.
Driver information is another category that is taken seriously. Since Bluetooth phone links are now commonly found in new vehicles, editors are able to connect their smartphones to test voice activation.
The interior of the Santa Fe Sport has a flowing design that is designed with both driver and passenger in mind. You will find an 8-way power driver seat, heated rear seats, and a standard 40:20:40 folding rear seat.
All Santa Fe models that come with cloth seating will have a YES Essentials seat fabric treatment that delivers soil-resistant, anti-odor, and anti-static properties that will make the seats last much longer.
More natural light is allowed into the cabin thanks to the addition of an optional panoramic sunroof.
The 2,4L and 2,0L Turbo models come standard with a push-button starter and proximity key, as well as an electrochromatic gauge cluster color LCD screen. Options include sliding second row seats and a toasty warm heated steering wheel.
The 2013 Santa Fe Sport has come in for some real critical acclaim since it was released in fall 2012.
As well as this most current accolade, it has also been names the Crossover of the Year by Autobytel, as well as being named Best Car in its category by Kiplinger Finance Magazine.
Other cars named in the top 10 include the Acura RDX, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Spark, Kia Forte 2014, Lexus GS 450h, Mazda6, Nissan Pathfinder, Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn and the Toyota Avalon.
