Winters in Summer.....

Post by PaulMurphy123 » Fri Apr 14, 2017 11:13 am

I know this can be a very hot topic (at least it was when I owned a Land Rover!) but in simple terms I cannot afford to run 2 sets of tyres nor do I want to.

I bought a Hyundai Tucson with 19inch rims a year ago, nice car but I now need to replace the tyres. I do about 20k miles per annum, live a bit out in the country but I would say majority of my driving is motorway.

I am curious as to feeling here to buying 4 winters now and just living with it. Better to have winters on in summer than summers on in winter as most do? The reality is for my car 4 x decent tyres and fitting is going to set me back about £700.

It is feasible, but winter tires will wear faster and become less grippy at higher temperatures.

I've had a set of winter tyres and have never looked back!
