2015 Hyundai Azera is refreshed, may still be on life support

2015 Hyundai Azera

What you see above is the 2015 Hyundai Azera. It’s slightly refreshed for the new model year, with a new grille, lighting elements and fascia joining some newly standard technology bits inside the cabin. Other than those few updates, this is the same Azera we’ve known and loved since its most recent redesign for the 2012 model year.

Thing is, we’re not sure if the Azera will actually live past 2015 here in the United States. Hyundai has said that it still sees some space above the Sonata midsize sedan and its larger and more luxurious Genesis Sedan for a vehicle sized and priced like the Azera, but just hasn’t been able to find many buyers who agree.

Put simply, if you like what you see in the 2015 Azera, now would be a good time to mosey on over to your nearest Hyundai dealer to see if this fullsize sedan suits your specific needs better than competitors like the Chevy Impala, Toyota Avalon and Buick LaCrosse.

Hyundai sued in Korea over inflated fuel economy claims

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport

Hyundai remains in hot water in its home market after the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport alleged that the country's largest automaker, along with Ssangyong, misstated fuel economy numbers on some of its crossovers. Now, though, the country's consumers are going after Hyundai, with a lawsuit from 1,500 Santa Fe owners.

The suit was filed in Seoul Central District Court by a firm called Yeyul. Its spokesperson, Kim Woong, said the suit was a sign that angry consumers could go after the manufacturer if they're wronged by a company's product.

"It is essential that as many affected consumers as possible take part in this lawsuit to show not just the carmaker but the rest of the companies in Korea that you can get a red card if you mess with your customers," Kim told Bloomberg.

Yeyul and its clients are targeting 1.5 million won (about $1,500) in compensation for owners of the Santa Fe models built between May 2012 and June 2014. It's unclear if Hyundai will settle for a lesser amount, as the $1,500 figure is considerably higher than the what the company compensated American owners with, after copping to incorrect economy figures in US-market Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

2016 Hyundai Tucson Image Rendering Hits The Web

Car & Driver Brazil have put together an illustration of what the next generation Hyundai Tucson 2016MY will look like.

The last refresh for the vehicle was shown off at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, but the magazine believes that the 5-year old refresh for the Tucson SUV will end up being a cross between the Santa Fe and the Intrado Concept that was shown at the most recent show in Geneva.

Car & Driver feel that the finished car will have the look of a mini version of the Santa Fe, and will come with a longer wheelbase to help add some legroom to the passengers in the rear of the vehicle.

The cars that are the biggest competitors to the Tucson are the Kia Sportage and the Ford Kuga.

This could then offer up the possibility of adding a pair of jump eats in the rear to create a 7-seater that could then become a serious competitor to the Mahindra XUV500 in India.

It is likely that the current 2.0-liter petrol engine would remain, but the article in the magazine claims that a new 7-speed transmission may be included as an option.

There would be improvements made to the overall design, as well as the addition of new equipment, with the likes of Park Assist being made standard.

Stay tuned as we will soon provide more news about the 2016 Tucson SUV! (Source: caranddriverbrasil)

370-Horsepower Hyundai Veloster Turbo – Pictures + Video

Hyundai and Fox Marketing Cars have teamed up to deliver the most powerful Veloster Turbo street machine ever. The car was seen at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

At the core of Fox Marketing’s engine was Hyundai’s 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder direct-injected T-GDI engine.

Fox added a number of advanced engine components to create an absolute beast.

Among those additions were a new 845 Motorsports turbo upgrade, BorgWarner EFR turbo, front-mounted intercooler, AEM water/methanol injection system, VP Racing 101-octane performance fuel and an ECU tune from SeoulfulRacing, all of which adds up to an impressive 370 horsepower.

The goal was to keep the Veloster Turbo concept close to the ground and flat when cornering at high speed, which was achieved by adding a UNIQ Performance strut brace, ImportShark chassis bracing and fully-adjustable ARK Performance coil-over suspension.

The car has incredible stopping power, thanks to the addition of WP Pro EX6 6-piston front calipers with carbon fiber ducting and 13.6-inch wavy-cut rotors.

The Veloster Turbo gets an aggressive styling with a number of exterior modifications that are in line with the changes made to the other areas of the car.

BASF created a hand-mixed paint called R-M Oynx HD Waterborne SkyAqua Pearl, to deliver an eye-catching exterior color.

An ImportShark front lip spoiler, Hyundai Genesis fog lights, and custom front and rear fascias round out the cool exterior changes.
